I'm beginning work on my next book, tentatively entitled: "HITLER'S BODY & THE BODY POLITIC: The Psychosomatic Meaning of Politics." Nazi leaders often declared, "Hitler is Germany, just as Germany is Hitler." There was no separation between Hitler and his nation. Hitler's own body was bound to this massive object. That's why we defend nations so vehemently: we imagine they are part of us: bound to our own bodies. hide
